Week 7 - 6/27/16

Well pretty crazy week.
Tuesday was sooooooo long. I had about 6 hours of plane rides then got to a hotel and slept.
Wednesday: Met the mission president and a bunch of other elders then had a 7-hour bus ride to Conception, my area, and met my comp who is Elder Lau. Of course he is a poly. Just unpacked that day.

Thursday: Visited a family. The mom’s name is Tita. We had lunch. She’s not a member but her sons are. Met with a bunch of people who’s names I can’t remember. We met with a family that’s members that tricked me into eating this sour fruit lol. Then we had dinner with a less active family.

Friday: Met with members. I actually talked in some lessons even though I can barely understand them. We also did some contacts. Met with a guy named Ricardo, really cool guy. He said the lizards in his house are his sons lol.

Saturday: Met with The Montenegro family. Really, really great family. Then we walked about 500000 miles to our next house and had lunch, it was pretty good. Then we tried to meet with some new investigator but they didn’t want to. Then we met with another investigator and he said he prayed and he said that he knows Joseph Smith was a prophet. Pretty cool. Then we gave him a little lesson about faith. Then met with another less active family for dinner. They all fed us food, it was great.

Sunday: I did not understand anything during church. Oh and I almost had to give a talk, super scary, but the other elder in our zone saved me. We tried to contact an investigator but they weren’t there. Then we had lunch with Familia Valdes and contacted some people. We had plans but they all fell. Then we went and picked up our dinner and ate at the house. That’s pretty much it. It’s been really fun and hot and I’ve lost some weight already. Anyways yeah. Nos vemos.

Week 5 - 6/15/2016

By this time next week I'll be in Panama.... Soooooooooo excited. I just want to tell you how much I love all of you. And also how well our little lessons have been going in the MTC. Sometimes our teachers act as investigators and we have to teach them. So its kind of hard to feel the spirit when you know that they are members. But this past week I tried to wipe that from my mind and that they really are investigators. And when I did so, I felt the spirit soooo strong. And felt him guide my lessons and help my companion say what he needed to say. There was one point where I heard loud and clear, SHARE THIS SCRIPTURE NOW, and after that lesson my teacher said it was one of our bests. Also another cool experience is with our real investigator, we commited him to baptism, so we were teaching about commandments like tithing and the Palabra de Sabiduria (Word of Wisdom). So we told him to read the pamphlets about them. When we came back he was so stoked to pay tithing. He wanted to pay it right then and there. And then the next lesson we taught about the word of wisdom and read straight out of D&C 89. We asked if there was any problems with that and he said he likes to drink coffee and alcohol. So we told him that he will be blessed beyond believe if he tried his best to stop. and if he seeked help from God hed receive that help. He them proceeded to say, " If God says to not drink, then I won't do it anymore!" pretty cool. He's a really awesome guy and I love him so much. But we don't get to teach him anymore because they turned him over to the missionaries in his area. Anyways I'll be heading to Panama on Tuesday so if you want to send me anything now's the time. I love all of you and love this Gospel. It has been the best thing in my life. And I thank all of you for your support and for your love during the hard times we all had these past 2 months. Dad is still with us and will always be. Keep up the faith. Peace out.

Week 4 - 6/8/2016

Hello everyone,
Pretty amazing week. My comp and I have been teaching some pretty good lessons. Elder Bednar came and spoke to us yesterday and we sang his new song. Pretty spiritual. We got a 6'9 elder in our zone and hes totally cool. I'll send some pictures. And his comp is such a boss. They now Gracie Rushton. Small world. I only have two weeks left in the MTC.... Crazy I know. On Friday we get our flight itinerary. Although I want to be in the field super bad, there is so much more I need to learn. Spanish is coming along I'm getting better everyday. We got our investigator to commit to baptism!!! Sooo sweet. We tried to get him to say this Saturday but he said in two weeks. We told him that he was ready for this Saturday but he didn't want to. So we've been giving him scriptures to read and helping him prepare for that. The missionaries in his area get to do the actual baptizing. Our investigator Brian is a super cool guy. We talked about martial arts and wrestling for like the last 15 minutes of our lesson. He has been doing MMA for about 5 years so I asked him to be my body guard while in panama but he said no. I love talking with him and joking around with him. Also yesterday we got to skype someone from Argentina who is a member. It was a really cool experience. He was a really nice guy and super friendly and helpful. As I come closer to Christ, my love for everything and everyone grows. This gospel is amazing and I dont know  what I'd do without it. I love you all and I hope all of you can come closer to our savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. You'll find yourselves in a such better place in life. Peace out
