Week 11 - 7/25/16

Buenas

Hello everyone, pretty good week.

Monday P-day had a water balloon capture the flag fight thingy with our whole zone, it was really fun. Then we had a couple lessons with a less active and a joven investigator.

Tuesday we had a district meeting, then visited Diogenes and he made us juice again. We found out that he has been smoking, but we are helping him with that. Then we met with a hermana, her dad was a member and she’s not, but she believes everything. Later on in the week she committed to a baptismal date. We met with some more investigators and then had noche de hogar with familia Linares.

Wednesday we read from the BOM with familia Linares. We also had a reference scheduled but he cancelled. Then we met with a contact Senor Valientin. He is a pretty cool guy but he thinks the Sabbath day is on Saturday. But he believes in the Book of Mormon and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. Then we met with familia Montenegro, the really cute girls who I gave CTR rings to.

Thursday we had a service in the morning. Then lunch and then met with a really positive investigator that even taught his family what we taught him. Then we met with some less actives.

Friday we had migrations so I had to go to the city and receive my carnet which is like the Panama id, so I’m legal here.

Saturday we met with Senor Valientin again and taught him about the priesthood. Then we met with another investigator and had a couple citas fall.

Sunday we had church and had a member come out with us but all of our lessons canceled on us lol. Then we met with Tiodolinda and got a fecha with her and then met with another positive investigator, Ismael. Love you all.

Week 10 - 7/18/16

Heyyyyyy everyone! Soooooo really really good week. 

Monday was pday. Super fun. We went to Jupiter haha the owner of our house has a little piece of land that has part of the river in it and it’s really a pretty place. Oh and he also speaks really good English. He is one of my best friends, I love him. I titled this Jurassic Park because that is what Panama looks like. 

Tuesday we had a district meeting then lunch. Then we had a lesson with a less active about Santa Cena (the Sacrament) and the blessings promised. Then we did another less active lesson with Diojenes who makes the best juice ever. We taught about fasting. Then a noche de hogar (FHE) with familia Linares, who also went to church last Sunday and I gave him a pair of my pants because he doesn’t own any. They are less active but they are great people. 

Wednesday we had interviews with the new president. He is a really good guy and really strong. Then we read from the Book of Mormon with familia Linares. After that we did splits and the elder I was with had a bum ankle so I had to stay in the house for two days.

Friday we tried to meet with some contacts but they didn’t want to. Then we found someone and gave them the first lesson. Everyday I speak more and more in the lessons. The first lesson is the restoration. We tried to hit up more contacts but they weren’t there. We went to see how a less active was doing and she needed help moving a bunch of stuff so we did that for her. This is my favorite part. So for noche de hogar con Fam Montenegro we did the ten commandments signs with our hands, I don’t know if you know them, but yeah. The little girls are soooooooo cute. I love them. I gave them CTR rings and they were so happy and so was the mom. I told the mom I wasn’t feeling well so she made me really good tea from leaves in here back yard and gave me medicine. 

Saturday we went out to this house that’s pretty far for a member’s house to go home teaching and he didn’t even have a lesson planned lol so I gave a lesson about how when we listen to the spirit we are actually communicating with angels and that we have that ability. I also taught about the importance of the spirit. Then we went to a baptism that the hermanas had in our zone which was really cool. They also have another one this weekend. Then met with diojenes again and finished with a really good dinner. 

Sunday made me soooooo sooo sooo happy. Familia Montenegro with the cute girls are in active but they came to church. Which is supppppper hard for them. I started crying because I was sooooo happy. Then we found some really good people. This guy says he knows that Joseph Smith is a profeta, that the Book of Mormon is true, and that the same church that Christ established is here on earth today. We call him the dry Mormon because he isn’t baptized yet but knows the church is true. 

I love this work. It is the best thing I could be doing right now. I love these people. The church is true and Christ lives. I love all of you.

Week 9 - 7/11/16

Monday: Well Monday was P-day we went to Pricemart, which is like Costco. Then we did splits with the zone leaders and I had to stay home with the sick one lol.

Tuesday: Had district meeting, it was chill. Then we were still on divisions but got to go out. We went to the zone leader’s area and just contacted a bunch, gave a couple lessons, and I actually got to teach in English. Some one in our ward speaks pretty good English, so yeah. 

Wednesday: We had a service project and had to cut down some trees. Then visited less actives. We tried to visit investigators but they weren’t home. 

Thursday: Had a zone meeting because the new President has a bunch of new rules. Then we visited this investigator named Christian and he told us he had a revelation that he was going to make his own church and save everyone.... lol. But no he was actually really interested and we have visited him since and he read the restoration pamphlet and had a ton of questions and he prayed after our lesson to know if the things we taught were true. 

Friday: I had migrations so we had to take a 7-hour bus ride to the city at 11:30 the night before, got there around 7, finished around 10, and left back to our area at like 12.

Saturday: We did a service project and sanded and prepped these pillars to be painted, then visited with a member family, Familia Quiel, a cute little old people. We tried to find an investigator but he didn’t want us to come. 

Sunday: We had church and I was really scared I was going to have to speak ahaha but I didn’t. We met with a less active and taught her to keep the Sabbath Day holy, then we met with another less active family. The wife has been getting frustrated and feels pressured so the husband told us and we might not be able to come as often. Then we met with a sister we met contacting one day and gave her the second half of the first lesson. I talked about about Jose Smith and his first vision and she understood me haha. 

I don’t remember what day it was but we had to break up a fight between to brothers lol they were like in their 20’s, it was pretty crazy. But yeah I’ve been sick for about a week and a half now with an upset stomach, it sucks but its whatever. Love you all.

Week 8 - 7/4/16

Hey everyone.

Monday: P-day I didn’t do much but write and then made some food at this lady’s house. I had to grate carrots about 5000 of them lol not really. Than had a fun family home evening with familia Linares (in actives). 

Tuesday: We had district meeting and we played soda pong haha. Did some street contacts and tried to visit some investigators but they all fell. That’s happened a lot. 

Wednesday: We met with familia Linares again. We work a lot with in actives. then another in active familia Martinez who actually came to church this Sunday. Tried for our investigators again but they fell. Then did some contacts and had dinner

Thursday: We have a tradition to go to this restaurant every Thursday called Taurus, it’s pretty good. We tried to meet up with some of our contacts but they all fall. Do you see the pattern? Then we had a family home evening planned but the mom didn’t want to show up, it’s happened like twice. Then dinner with familia Arrocha Munoz.

Friday: We met our new mission president. He’s a really good guy, really powerful. Met with some in actives and once again tried to visit new investigators that all say they wanted to visit but then rejected us. 

Saturday: Met with an in active who’s cousin we met. We tried to visit the cousin with Daniel but they weren’t home. So we just taught Daniel. Then we had lunch and finally a new investigator actually wanted to meet with us like he said. We gave him the first part of the restoration. 

Sunday Had church and had familia Martinez come and it was a really good testimony meeting. I fasted all day and then our dinner cancelled on us so I pretty much starved lol. Yeah that was my week pretty normal nothing to special. Well I don’t remember what day but we met a lady who’s family member just died and I got to testify through personal experience that we could live with our families forever. Pretty cool experience. But yeah love you all.
